The shoulder strap uniting the bag's two main panels enables it, when open and weighted, to remain at a 180-degree angle. This mechanism transforms waste material into a functional gesture, leather strips that would otherwise be discarded find new purpose through rotation and tension. BORSEO celebrates both material economy and the vernacular poetry of its Venetian namesake.

BORSEO derives from "borsetta" (handbag) but in Venetian dialect. The dialectal name renders the product bucolic and artisanal. BORSEO is born from leather production scraps in Japan. The idea emerged after using strip offcuts to create small object holders. Leather bands connect via a pivot pin that allows them to rotate, opening and closing with use.
